Though sometimes forgotten with cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, and even Reykjavik nearby, Stockholm shouldn’t be missed on a European tour! After an easy and scenic train ride from Copenhagen, we checked into the Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm and started exploring the city. We had a wonderful time at the fascinating Nobel Museum, all about the history of the world-famous awards, and spent half a day at Skansen, Stockholm’s “open-air museum and zoo” that felt much more like a cross between Disneyland and Colonial Williamsburg. We also visited the Vasa Museum, named for the full-sized ship that is reconstructed inside, and saw the Changing of the Guard at Stockholm Palace! Along the way, we enjoyed meatballs, various lingonberry products, pickled fish, and plenty of ice cream. A wonderful time in a beautiful city!
